These Terms govern your use of HanziLens — the browser extension and website that let you capture Chinese text on your screen and receive a translation and breakdown. By creating an account or using HanziLens, you agree to these Terms.

Accounts

You must provide a valid email and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use HanziLens.

The service & free tier

The free tier allows up to 15 captures per day. We may adjust limits to keep the service sustainable. Pro removes the daily cap.

Pro subscription & billing

Pro is a recurring subscription billed through Paddle, our merchant of record. It renews automatically each period until you cancel, which you can do at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.

AI-generated analyses

Translations and breakdowns are produced by automated AI models and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are provided for learning assistance only and are not a substitute for a professional human translation. Do not rely on them for legal, medical, financial, or other consequential decisions.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use HanziLens to infringe others’ rights or to capture content you are not permitted to access.
Attempt to bypass capture limits, security, or authentication.
Abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or resell the service.

You are responsible for the images you capture and for complying with the terms of the sites and applications you use HanziLens on.

Your content

You retain ownership of the items you save. You grant us the limited license needed to store and display them back to you within the service.

Termination

You may stop using HanziLens and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Disclaimers & liability

HanziLens is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [your jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes
